The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Southern Railway has launched a substantial recruitment drive for Act Apprentice positions.

A total of 3,518 vacancies are up for grabs across various divisions, offering a great opportunity for skilled and motivated candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Freshers:
    • Must have passed Class 10 (minimum 50% aggregate).
    • Some trades may require Class 12 with PCM/B for MLT roles.
  • Ex-ITI Candidates:
    • Must have passed Class 10 (minimum 50%) and hold an ITI certificate in a relevant trade (NCVT/SCVT).
  • Age Limit (as on cutoff date):
    • Freshers: Up to 22 years
    • Ex-ITI (and MLT): Up to 24 years
    • Age relaxations apply: OBC-NCL (+3 yrs), SC/ST (+5 yrs), PwBD (+10 yrs)

Stipend Details

  • Freshers (10th pass): ₹6,000/month
  • Freshers (12th pass): ₹7,000/month
  • Ex-ITI candidates: ₹7,000/month

Application Fee

  • General / OBC / EWS: ₹100
  • SC / ST / PwBD / Women: No fee

Selection Process

  • Merit-Based: No written exam.
    • Freshers: Merit based on Class 10 marks.
    • Ex-ITI: Combined weightage of Class 10 and ITI marks.
    • MLT: Based on Class 12 marks in PCM/B.
  • Tie-Breaker: Preference given to older candidates and earlier year of passing if scores are tied.
  • Document Verification and Medical Fitness are mandatory. There is no guaranteed job placement upon completion, though preference may be given in future recruitment rounds.
